1. Who we are

TailorCV AI ("we", "us", "our") is operated by an individual developer. Our service is accessible at tailorcv.app. For any privacy questions, contact us at tailoryourcvai@gmail.com.

2. What data we collect

  • Account data — your email address and encrypted password, provided when you sign up.
  • Resume text — the text extracted from PDF or DOCX files you upload. We store the extracted text, not the original file.
  • Job descriptions — the job description text you paste or send from the Chrome extension.
  • AI-generated output — tailored resume bullets, ATS scores, and cover letters generated by Claude AI.
  • Application tracking data — company names, roles, and status entries you add to your tracker.
  • Billing data — handled entirely by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID; we never see or store card details.
  • Usage data — number of tailoring requests made per month, used to enforce free-tier limits.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide the resume tailoring service
  • To generate cover letters on your request
  • To enforce free-tier usage limits and manage Pro subscriptions
  • To allow you to track job applications
  • To send transactional emails (e.g. email confirmation) via Supabase Auth
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as described in Section 4.

4. Third parties

  • Supabase (supabase.com) — database and authentication. Data is stored in their EU/US infrastructure.
  • Anthropic (anthropic.com) — your resume text and job description are sent to Claude AI to generate tailored output. Anthropic's API data usage policy applies.
  • Stripe (stripe.com) — payment processing. Stripe handles all card data under PCI-DSS compliance.
  • Vercel (vercel.com) — application hosting and serverless functions.

5. Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time by emailing tailoryourcvai@gmail.com, after which all your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

6. Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are located in the UK or EU, you have the right to:
  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Data portability

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies — specifically, a session cookie set by Supabase to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

8. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed by Supabase Auth and never stored in plain text. Row Level Security (RLS) is enforced at the database level so users can only access their own data.

9. Children

TailorCV AI is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
